The Czech baseball Extraleague is considered among top European leagues, every year a significant number of foreign players join he competition. Czech baseball tries to attract more young players to baseball through several support programs. Four-time European champions come from the Czech Republic, therefore there is the only goal – get the gold medal again.
The Austrian National Team Juveniles was established in 2006 and has since then participated in every European Championship. After finishing in the second half of the standings the frist three years the Austrian team finished fourth out of 9 teams in 2009.
